Eating Well for Mental Health: Pilots Take Flight!

Posted on August 31, 2010

The Minding Our Bodies team at CMHA Ontario received 15 expressions of interest to participate in the Eating Well for Mental Health pilot program from mental health agencies, consumer/survivor initiatives, community health centres and some specific community services. We were thrilled with the interest level and the quality of the applications. After much deliberation, the team decided on six organizations, located throughout Ontario, who will receive funding to run a pilot program between September and December 2010. We are pleased to announce the following organizations as pilot sites:

  • Keewaytinook Okimakanak (Thunder Bay)
  • Northern Initiative for Social Action (Sudbury)
  • Algoma Public Health: Community Mental Health Program (Elliot Lake)
  • CMHA Peterborough Branch (Peterborough)
  • Mood Disorders of Ontario Association (Toronto)
  • CMHA Huron-Perth Branch (Stratford)

We are looking forward to working with each group and are excited to see their programs develop. We would like to thank all of our applicants for their time, effort and desire to support people with mental illness in their recovery.

Stay tuned for more exciting information as our pilots are put into motion over the next few months.
