Many Canadians recognize the importance of including food nutrient information on products, but are confused as to how to use the labels. For this reason, collaboration between Health Canada and Food and Consumer Products of Canada has produced the Nutrition Facts Education Campaign. Launched in late October 2010, the campaign aims to increase consumer understanding and use of the Nutritional Facts table, with a particular focus on the “% Daily Value.” The campaign is being spread through package messaging, print ads, a television commercial and on the Health Canada website. |
